The plum lip trend has been everywhere lately- from the catwalks to our favourite magazines, even the movies!
It's not the most easiest shade to wear and I'm sure most of you would steer far away, but I've tried to make it workable for everyday.
The most wearable way of wearing this shade is a stain- taking a bit of product from the tube onto your finger and smearing it neatly on your lips. I don't like the word "smearing"... For this look, I used YSL Rogue Volupte Perle in Spellbinding Violet. For a previous post with disastrous results using this lipstick, go here Here is the result:
I love this colour as a stain (it's much darker IRL) and it can be worn pretty much in any environment. I work in the Health industry and didn't get told off for wearing this colour! Yay!
It has started to fade about four hours aftter wearing it, which is not too bad, I guess!
Do you love the plum trend? Will you be wearing it for the A/W season?

Luxe vs Less- Fuchsia Pink Lipstick
I've recently dug up two fuchsia pink lipsticks in my makeup bag and thought I'd compare each one with the other:D
The first one is YSL Rouge Personnel Multi-Finish Lipstick in No 28, and the second is Designer Brands Moisturising Lipstick in "Vivid Mauve".

Who Won? Less or Luxe?
It's incredibly hard to choose a winner between these two: YSL is so densely pigmented and BRIGHT, it's perfect for night wear, whereas the DB lipstick is more subdued making it perfect for day! I guess it comes down to personal choice and what you're going to be wearing that day.
YSL had the better formula of the two, and longer lasting power (you'd expect it to be better if you're paying $40 for it). However, for a $7 lipstick, Designer Brands have done a fantastic job!
Which one did you like better? Let me know in the comments!

Another Lovely Lipstick- Chanel Aqualumiere #92 "Monte Carlo"
Another day, another Chanel lipstick.
This lovely lipstick is from Chanel's "Aqualumiere" range. It's incredibly hydrating and wears comfortably on the lips- kind of like a pigmented lip balm. This particular colour is a sheer red with gold micro shimmer throughout. It's a great if you want a red lip, but not "over the top" red.

YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick Review, Swatches & Photos
Many thanks to Makeup and Macaroons for giving me the push I needed to try something other than Chanel for once! As soon as I saw Lilit's post I popped onto Strawberrynet and snabbed two up for myself- Peach Passion #13 and Lingerie Pink #7!
First impressions?: YSL Rouge Voluptes, where have you been all my life!? Your packaging is so decadent, so elegant, so magnificent that I can just imagine HRH Princess Kate Middleton stashing one of these lovelies into her princess clutch and whipping it out to touch up her royal lips after a snog with Willy *sigh*.
Pigmentation wise, you just smash it out of the ball park. One swipe is all I need to get perfect lips with the right amount of colour. If there was only one tiny thing I'd change about you, it's how fast you wear off... but you can't win at everything, no?

Very pale, cool toned baby pink. Perfect paired with dramatic, smokey eyes
Peach Passion
A light-medium coral that can be worn with just about anything. It's a very flattering colour.
I highly recommend these if you're looking to invest in a high end lipstick. At $55 a pop, they aren't cheap so you really need to go into a stockist and take your time mulling over the colours. Once you find your perfect shade, you'll be in heaven!

I Love Lipstick- YSL Rouge Personnel Multi Finish Lipstick in 28
Todays lovely lipstick is from the gorgeous Dana's blogsale :)
It's YSL so I had to get it straight away, being the brand whore that I am!
This lipstick screams "1950's Pin Up". It's bright, bold, sexy and adventurous. You can't be a shrinking violet wearing THIS shade!
I give you YSL No 28 Hot Fuchsia:

My Image
As you can see, it's a very bright, blue based pink with a matte finish. It's quite moisturising too!
I've blotted it down quite heavily for these photos- it's just far too bright for work wear!
I recommend this shade if you want to do a statement lip, but are sick of red! It will really make blue eyes pop and looks fantastic on cool skin tones.

I Love Lipstick- Ciccone Cosmetics Lipsticks in Oceanus and Hera
Ciccone is one of the awesome, quiet brands that not everyone knows about, but once you do you fall in love and your life is complete!
Ever since I tried one of Ciccone's lipsticks, I knew I was onto a good thing and was a bit hesitant about letting you guys know because I WANT THEM ALL TO MYSELF! How selfish am I :( Sorry guys!
Who are Ciccone?:
Ever since I tried one of Ciccone's lipsticks, I knew I was onto a good thing and was a bit hesitant about letting you guys know because I WANT THEM ALL TO MYSELF! How selfish am I :( Sorry guys!
Who are Ciccone?:
"Helen and Frank gave life to Ciccone Cosmetics in 2001. Ten years on, their bright-lipped baby is quickly growing into a boisterous, force-to-be-reckoned-with teen.
A lipstick that feels the way a lipstick should feel. Australian made for women who love their lippies!
There are eight gorgeous lipsticks and two lipliners in our range - with soft pinks, beige and chocolate colours mixed together and a thick clear gloss to wear alone or over the top to create luscious looking, simply irrekissable lips. "
Now onto the lipstick!
I've go two lippies to show you today: Oceanus and Hera.
Left- Oceanus and Right- Hera
Kudos to Ciccone for naming their Lipsticks after characters from Greek Mythology! I LOVE GREEK MYTHOLOGY!
Oceanus

Oceanus

Oceanus is a lovely soft coral shade that's PERFECT for Spring! I really like this coral- it's soft enough for everyday wear without being "too-in-your-face-look-at-me coral"
I really like how Oceanus looks on my Peaches and Cream skin tone:
Hera

Hera

How do I describe Hera? I put it in my "serious/power" lipstick category. It's a very elegant, grown up shade that's perfect for when you have to be in charge!
It's a mid plum/pinky/browny shade that screams sophistication!
This one really makes blue eyes POP!
Thoughts
Ciccone lipsticks are incredibly creamy, silky and glide onto the lips with ease. They are jam packed with moisturisers so your lips wont snap, crackle and pop whilst you are wearing them (as with most matte lipsticks). I also LOVE how they come in a bright pink case with rhinestone detail- it makes it really easy for me to find them in my bag!
I highly recommend them and will re-purchase.
Where to Buy
Buy Ciccone from their online store
Price
Each lippie retails for $25.00
Hope you enjoyed!
