Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter "Strawberry Shortcake"

So I decided to purchase ANOTHER Revlon Lip Butter to see if this one was any different (better) to the other I got (Sweet Tart)...

This one is "Strawberry Shortcake" and is a heavily blue based, baby pink with no shimmer.

It is marginally opaque on application, and as with "Sweet Tart", will emphasise any dryness on your lips- so exfoliate well beforehand!

As you can see, this colour is incredibly pale, so if you are pale and fair haired , I'd wear this with a very dramatic smokey eye (lest you look like a corpse), OR if you are dark haired, this colour would look just lovely you!

Now let's discuss something that has been bothering me- the packaging. I just do not care for plastic, cheap packaging. Whilst the colour coded tops are very handy, I just can't get past the tackiness. Surely, if I'm spending AU$25 per Lip Butter, they could afford better packaging?! SURELY!?

Anyway, I won't be buying these again. This purchase has just cemented that they are over-priced, over-hyped, under-performing lippies. Give me my Rouge Coco Shines any day!

Let me know your experiences with Lip Butters in the comments!

Keep it Haute,

  1. Couldn't agree more. The end cap on one of mine flew off, which means I open it with my teeth. Nice. I'm sticking with my Estée Lauder Pure Color lipgloss and Chanel lippies.

  2. I actually don't mind them, but I'm using them more as a oomphy coloured lip balm then a lipstick. The thing that does bother me about them is the unpredictability of what the colour will look like on me. They appear so bold and strong in the tube, the pale and translucent when worn.
I have to admit that I did buy mine online instead of through retail and got three for the same price as one in store ...

  5. I also don't like the Revlon lip butter. I got the Cupcake variant. You're right in saying that it "will emphasize any dryness in your lips". I couldn't agree with you more in this review.
